We provide homeless animals with shelter and care while working to find them new homes. VVAPL helps more than 2,000 animals each year. All pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. OUR MISSION "Victor Valley Animal Protective League provides shelter and care for homeless cats and dogs for the purpose of finding them suitable and permanent new homes while promoting the importance of spay/neuter and thoughtful, healthy relationships between people and their pets."     FOSTER ​ Foster caregivers are volunteers who care for animals in their home until they are strong enough or well enough to be made available for adoption. ​ VVAPL’s Foster Program requires at least an 8 week commitment. Fosters must be at least 18 years old, complete orientation, and pass a background check. ​ If you’d like to be considered as a foster caregiver, please complete the Foster Interest Form, and one of our staff members will be in touch. FOSTER INTEREST FORM Animals needing foster homes: Orphaned kittens and puppies. Underaged, self-feeding kittens and puppies (4 – 8 weeks old). Mother cat or dog with nursing kittens or puppies. Shy or fearful animals who need socialization. Healthy older adult animals (who are usually already house trained) who could benefit from home care—especially in the spring and summer when the youngsters are getting the attention.

    Licks for Life Research has shown that pet ownership has physical and mental health benefits such as reducing cholesterol, lowing blood pressure, reducing stress, increasing fitness levels, and easing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and loneliness. As a thank you and support for our military veterans, VVAPL is offering Licks For Life, a FREE dog/cat pet adoption program. ​ Program Details: All military veterans qualify (proof required). Limits one dog or cat adoption per household. Dog and cat adoption includes vaccines, spay/neuter, and a microchip. Rabies vaccine is not included on pets under 4 months. Dogs younger than 4 months will receive 1st dose of puppy vaccinations. AVAILABLE DOGS AVAILABLE CATS

    Cremation We offer cremation along with euthanasia services for an additional fee. In cases when a pet has passed away at home, you may bring them to the shelter for cremation.     Linda and her dog Minnie ​ The Linda Ellsworth LifeSaver Medical Fund This Fund was set up to treat homeless animals in need of medical treatment that might otherwise cause them to be euthanized. Snakebites, amputations, skin diseases, eye removals, and broken bones are just a few of the medical conditions treated successfully. Your donations give our precious pets a second chance at finding a loving family. Linda Ellsworth was a beloved board member who left us much too soon. She absolutely loved animals and worked tirelessly to help our precious pets.
